Okay, this review has been long overdue… but every time I try to write it, I get emotional.

I had two dogs who were my absolute soulmates.

First, Shiwa: my big cuddly bear of a baba. She had the cutest little smile and made the happiest sounds whenever she saw me. Every morning she would wake me up by pushing her nose through my window. She refused kisses… but allowed me exactly one kiss a day. Oh, how I miss her chubby little face. I had to say goodbye to her on 27 December 2023.

Then there’s Jack: my long-legged Jack Russell, full of chaos and personality. He always had the funniest grin. You could instantly tell if he’d done something naughty, because that little smile would give him away and he’d just grin even more. I got Jack for my birthday in 2009, and that dog was truly everything to me. I always said the world would stop the day I lost him… and honestly, it felt like it did. By the end he was old — couldn’t hear, half blind, and had almost no teeth left — so I hadn’t seen that cheeky grin in a long time. But he made me laugh like no one else ever could. I had to say goodbye to him on 20 December 2025.

I sent Cara photos of my two babas, hoping she might somehow capture their essence… and she absolutely did.

I now only drink coffee out of those mugs. Every morning my husband asks me, “Do you want a Jackie or a Shiwa?”... knowing very well I won’t choose anything else.

Every time I see their faces, it brings a smile. On the days I feel sad or overwhelmed, I make coffee… because now, coffee means seeing them again, that sweet little smile and that ridiculously funny grin.

Cara, thank you for capturing them so perfectly. Seeing their faces every day has made living without them just a little bit easier.

I ordered a coffee mug from Cara. It is the sweetest design of my English Bulldog, Marlee. It really is a picker-upper in the mornings while pouring my tea. The time frame is long due to lots of orders, BUT it is totally worth the wait. Highly recommended, 10 stars!
